Version 2026-08-31

Afitak helps you book appointments with clinics in Lebanon. This page explains what we hold about you, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we hold

Your mobile number, which is how your account is identified. Your name and — if you give it — your date of birth. The appointments you book, including the clinic, the doctor and the time. Nothing else: we do not ask for an email, an address or an identity document.

Why we hold it

To find and show you your appointments, to send you reminders, and to tell the clinic who is coming. Your name and date of birth go to a clinic only when you book with that clinic, and only to that clinic.

What the clinic sees

A clinic you book with sees your name, your number, your date of birth if you gave one, and your appointments with them. It does not see appointments you have with any other clinic. Each clinic keeps its own record of you, and those records are separated from each other in our database, not merely filtered apart in our software.

What we never see

Notes a doctor writes about a consultation, prescriptions and test results belong to the clinic that created them. They are not shown in this app and are not released to it.

How long we keep it

Your account lasts until you ask us to close it. Medical records held by a clinic are subject to the retention periods Lebanese law places on them, which are longer than an account and are the clinic's responsibility rather than ours.

Your rights

Under Law 81/2018 you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to erase it. Erasure removes your identity — your name, your number, your date of birth. Where a clinic must keep a medical record for a period the law sets, that record remains with the clinic under a reference that no longer names you.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is separated per clinic and enforced by the database itself, so a mistake in our software cannot show one clinic another clinic's patients. Reads of clinical data are logged.

Changes

If this policy changes in substance, we publish a new version and ask you to agree to it again. The version you agreed to, and when, is recorded and shown to you in the app.

Contact

Write to us and we will answer. Requests to see, correct or erase your data are handled by a person, not a form.
